Traffic on the westbound M3 was brought to a standstill on Sunday, December 13, after a horsebox overturned between near junction 3, Lightwater.

Firefighters from Egham were sent to the scene where they spent an hour righting the horsebox with winch, along with crews from Chertsey and Woking.

Traffic was brought to a standstill while the scene was cleared, causing congestion along the A30 from drivers seeking alternative routes.

A trapped motorist was rescued by firefighters from Egham following a crash on the southbound M3 near junction 2, the Thorpe Interchange.

The incident took place around 8.46am on Sunday, December 6.
