Toilet-break motorist injured after slip near Thorpe

Posted by Russell Butt on Oct 20, 09 04:58 PM in Useful Info

Firefighters recovered a man from the bottom of a grass embankment alongside the M3 after he slipped and hurt his ankle.

The incident happened around 5am on Sunday, October 11, when it is believed the motorist, a man in his sixties, had parked his car on the hard shoulder between junctions 2 and 3 of the southbound M3 to go to the toilet, but slipped down the grass bank.

Ambulance crews called the fire service for help after they were unable to retrieve the man. The fire service then winched the man to safety.
