Two hurt in Chertsey Road smash
Two drivers were injured yesterday on Tuesday afternoon when their cars were involved in a crash in Chertsey Lane, Thorpe.
A motorist travelling towards Chertsey was in collision with another car heading towards Staines near the junction with Green Lane just after 4pm.
The impact caused one of the vehicles to leave the road, obliterating a telegraph pole and part of a brick wall, before bouncing back into the road. It then hit two other vehicles, shunting one through a garden wall on the opposite side.
One of the drivers was taken to St Peter's Hospital, Chertsey, for treatment while the other motorist was treated at the scene by paramedics.
The road was closed for several hours while investigators worked at the scene and the vehicles were cleared.
