Summer Sizzler.jpgThe Community and Event Team at the Princess Alice Hospice, is launching an exciting new campaign for 2008 with the aim of hitting and exceeding their £10,000 target.
After last years very wet summer, the team are making the most of the sunshine this year and is now calling for Hospice supporters, schools, social groups, sports teams and local businesses to hold a Summer Sizzler BBQ in July and August. This is a simple, social and fun way to raise funds for this wonderful local charity.

The "SUMMER SIZZLER" campaign is proud to have the generous support and sponsorship from local business and long-term Hospice supporter Garsons.

Emma Playle, Community & Event Fundraiser, said
"I know that this campaign will be popular amongst our supporters and that we will have a great deal of interest from families and social groups both young and old. The idea is a simple one following the format of very successful national coffee morning and afternoon tea events, I hope that everyone will now enter into the spirit of the summer and hold some great fundraising barbecues".
The Hospice has already benefited from a few eager people who have already held their SUMMER SIZZLER fundraising BBQ before the main launch. The Royal Oak Pub, Bookham held a Sizzler as part of their Whitsun Beer Festival, and a Surrey riding stable will be holding a very special "Summer Sizzler" hog roast at their family fun day on July 26.
We have some great Summer Sizzler partners who will donate 10% of all sales to the Hospice when customers present their summer sizzler card. We are very grateful to the generous support of Westcott Bakery, Dorking and to the following butchers, Chapman and Sons, Tadworth, Woodward Brothers, Worcester Park, Gibbs and Evans, Chessington, Rawlings and Kensett Ltd, Bookham, Jefferies Too, Kingston, Stephens Fine Foods, Hinchley Wood, Bettaments of Banstead, Coyles of Richmond and Surrey Hills Butchers, Oxshott.
